Here are some pictures from October and Halloween festivities.  Leah finished up soccer the middle of the month. Emma had a Halloween Birthday Party on the 25th with friends. She had lots of fun!

Leah's Birthday and General Conference

Life has been busy at the Myers home of late. Leah had a great birthday.  She picked bone chicken (rotisserie chicken) and homemade mac and cheese for her birthday dinner.  She got two ice cream birthday cakes because it would have been too tall to if we had done one! She is doing really well in soccer and really enjoys it. We were playing soccer the other night for FHE and everytime the ball went out of bounds she would tell us it had gone "out of balance":)
Emma is doing well in school as always.  She is just finishing up the Emily Windsnap mermaid books and starting a series called Dragon Slippers.  She has also started piano lessons with me and so far it is going well.  She was asked to write a short talk for the primary program and is excited to get to share it soon in a few weeks.
Becca is keeping me entertained at home all day while her sisters are at school.  Her favorite book at the moment is olivia chrimas as she calls it. She has been extra interested in coloring and drawing of late and will draw me multiple pictures of monsters and dinosaurs.  She is even starting to try and write letters.  She loves to help cook any and everything and is super helpful with setting the table and emptying the dishwasher.
Alicia is keeping us on our toes always trying to find somewhere new to explore.  She is especially obsessed with climbing the stairs which is a problem when the baby gate doesn't work to block the stairs.  I try to block it with the ottoman but she just head buts it until it rolls out of her way.  She is super happy and fun to play with and loves to give me kisses. She is getting her two top teeth and you can hear her grinding them from across the room.
Grant is headed out to Notre Dame  and Sandia National Labs for interviews next week so wish me luck on the home front all by myself!
Found Emma in here one day after searching for her for 5 min!

Back to School 2014

So a quick update.  School started last week! Can't believe it has taken me a week to get these pictures posted. Leah started Kindergarten! She and Emma are both gone all day now.  It was super quiet-well kind of-Becca talks my ear off!  Leah seems to be liking it and Emma is happy to be back at school too.  We even went to the back to school picnic-I know shocker!  Grant and Niki went to a large social event by choice!  The things we do for our children.
Emma is liking 2nd grade and continues to read a ton.  She is currently reading the Emily Windsnap series about a half human half mermaid girl.  She wishes she had her own room and somehow convinced mom to let her have a free electronics day yesterday and loved every minute of it.  Her favorite game on the kindle is the mary kay make over app.
Leah is settling into Kindergarten.  She has her good friend Lizzie in her class.  She says she likes it but on the way home the first day she said school was great but when is friday? She says her favorite part is PE and math centers/tubs.  She is super excited to start soccer on Saturday.  She has initiated a game with her sisters called "mommy" where she is the mom and then she takes turns picking one of her sisters to be her baby and if they are naughty they lose their day.
Becca is obsessed with the move "ice" otherwise known as Frozen! She loves to help out with chores and especially loves cooking.  Every time she puts in an ingredient she says "that's awesome, it will taste awesome." I think awesome is her new favorite word.  We started working on potty training but I think we have hit the I don't want to be bothered with it stage.  Not even chocolate can entice her anymore.  Oh well part of the process.
Alicia is crawling everywhere!  We are all getting sore legs from trying to jump over the barricades that keep her corralled.  She is also experimenting with pulling herself up (sigh). She loves to try new foods and liked the bananas and avocados we gave her this week. Although they had to be in little chunks and not pureed or she gagged.  She likes to copy things you do and will copy if you say da da, shake your head no and wave at her.  She growing up too fast!

Beach Trip and other stuff

I can't believe we have been home from Utah for a month now!  We have been enjoying the recent cooler summer weather and spending lots of time outside at parks and going for walks.  A week or so ago the girls had a princess pajama party with some friends.  We watched a movie, painted finger nails and had lunch.  Everyone seemed to mostly have a good time.  This last Saturday we did a monster day trip to the beach in southern New Jersey.  We were able to meet our friends the Killions there and had a great time.  We played in the waves and the sand and enjoyed some pizza from Sams Pizza and even had famous ice cream from Springers!
School is starting in just under 2 weeks and I am not sure who is more excited-Emma or me! Leah is excited and a little nervous for Kindergarten.  She announced yesterday she has her first loose tooth!  I can't believe how fast the time is gone and that I will have two graders now, as Emma used to say. Becca is having lots of fun with her sisters home and I am sure she will miss them terribly.  She is really into reading books right now and her favorites are the brown bear series of books and there is a nightmare in my closet. She continues to be precocious and use big words.  The other day at the pool she asked me to grab her flotation for her.  She also likes to sing the song from the Lego movie "everything is awesome, everything is cool."  Alicia is about to crawl anyday.  She also likes to dance aka rock forward and back while sitting up.  She has a funny piglet grunting noise she makes that makes me laugh.
Grant and I continue pray and hunt for a job opportunity.  It is stressful and unnerving not knowing what the next few months will bring but at least we have each other and our girls to help us see the joy in everyday.  Here are some pictures from our recent adventures!
