Christmas 2010

So as usual I haven't written much lately. But it has been an exciting couple of months at our house. To start in September I woke up one morning in awful pain and had to go to the hospital. Turns out I was pregnant but it was ectopic. So after a few awful days of pain and luckily no surgery everything was fine. It took awhile to get back to normal and then yet again unexpectedly in November I found out we are having another baby. This time we have been blessed that everything seems normal including the morning or shall I say all day sickness. Between these two rather large events life hasn't really been normal for awhile.
But life does have a way of keeping going. Emma has been going to a joyschool preschool twice a week and loves getting to be with her friends. Leah loves Emma being gone because she gets mom all to herself!
Emma is really excited for Christmas and adds at least 5 things she wants to her list every day including cheetos and barbies and anything else she sees. Leah just likes taking the ornaments off the Christmas tree and dropping them on the floor, which we usually try to stop. So this afternoon while I was resting on the couch I looked up at Leah with her hand about to touch an ornament and she said "leah! no touching ornaments!" I think she has finally got the message.
Emma is as dramatic as ever. Tonight Grant was trying to get her into the car while she was extreme unwilling and bonked her head on the door. Emma then cried most of the way home how he broke her bones and that was one her "truths" that shouldn't be broken. I think she meant rules, but she then went on to list a whole bunch of her truths that we should follow so she will be happy. She comes up with the funniest things sometimes. Especially names for the new baby that she has decided is going to be a boy. Her latest name of choice is Frunger. When asked what we should do if it isn't a boy she said "it could work for a girl!"
Leah and Emma have become fast friends and spend most of the day playing puppies, traps, or rapunzel from their new bunk beds. It is nice that they are enjoying each others company more, it means less entertaining from me. Well that is a quick update of our crazy few months. Hopefully things will not be too extra exciting until the baby comes in July!

Summer's Finally Here!

We are all glad it is finally warm and sunny even though now it is really hot! The girls both love to play outside, especially in the water. We are all enjoying taking care of our garden and picked out first zucchini of the season last week. I recently stopped teaching piano lessons and it is going pretty good. I am not too bored yet, but we have been kept busy going to Spencer and Mckay's baseball games. Here are a few pictures from the 4th and playing in the water, enjoy!

2010

Just a few fun pictures from this year.
Well this new year has been busy, as you can tell since we haven't updated for quite a while. Emma started primary and I am not sure who cried more, her or me. She still gets a little teary when I drop her off but is happy when we pick her up and talks about her teacher Annie and prophets or praying or whatever they learned about that day for the rest of the week. She still has funny phrases that she says as she tries to figure out how some words go together and in general how the world works. This morning she woke up and told me she didn't want to get "shot" today because she wasn't sick. Apparently her flu shots had quite the impact she mentions it quite often. She is really into the "Olivia" books and frequently tells me she "loves me anyway" like olivia tells her mom. Saturday we were on the way home from Grandma Flo's house and Emma asked if she could watch a movie, and I told her no. In response she said can we have Family Home Evening then? Sometimes I feel like the things I try to teach them and do with them don't really get through but when she said that it helped me realize what I do really does matter and make a difference. She is so much fun and has so many thoughts and ideas to share with me everyday. I am so glad I get to stay home and be with her and watch her as she grows.
Leah is...almost eighteen months. Meaning she says no to everything and runs everywhere! Her new favorite trick is to push the chair up to the counter in the kitchen and eat the butter. At least now she gets out a spoon instead of using her fingers! She is very polite and says thank you for everything you do-getting her food, putting her coat on, and even changing her diaper. She is talking and trying more words everyday. She loves to play and climb and pester her sister. They are starting to play together better and I they will frequently disappear together and soon will both be laughing hysterically doing some silly thing together.
Grant is working hard on research and trying to keep his wife happy (which can be quite difficult somedays). I am renewing my commitment to keep better track of what I eat and excercise more. It is easier to feel motivated now the sun is shining more and the days are getting longer. I can feel spring is just around the corner and can't wait to start our garden and play outside with the girls more!
