Alicia 2 weeks old...ish!

So I have been a little busy this week with Grant going back to work, well at least a few days this week so here are some 2-3 week old pictures of Alicia.  We are doing pretty good, just trying to get back into life stuff.  Wednesday was a snow, well actually freezing rain day, so everyone was home but Grant.  He did get  to go to work 2 hours later so that was nice at least for me-I got to sleep in! Alicia is doing well, she will sleep 3-4 hours sometimes at night which makes for a happy mom. I am constantly trying to get a picture of her smiling and she always smiles right after or blinks from the flash.  Becca has become my shadow and follows me everywhere I go and talks my ear off!  We have another very verbal one on our hands.  She loves to talk and seems to have picked up that east coast nasal thing which can wear moms ears out sometimes but she is funny to listen to.  The girls new favorite show on tv in called Wild Kratts (it is on pbs and about animals) but Becca calls it wild craps which makes everyone giggle.  If anyone gets hurt she will come up and say "oh no, let me see it.  I will fix it with a bandaid" maybe we have a future doctor on our hands.  Leah is glad to be back at preschool after a break and was super excited for her turn for show and tell this week, she took a stuffed koala bear.  She loves to be outside even though it is pretty cold(we hit 40 and thought it was a heat wave!) but maybe not to her since she layers 2 or 3 pairs of gloves when we go out.  Emma is doing well at school. Her last report card was perfect!  She comes home from school almost everyday with new websites to try out and has been reading a series of books online all about different countries in the world and shares the facts with us.

4 Kids-Week 1

Well we did  it! We have successfully survived 1 week with 4 little girls.  Well Grant and I consider it a success, Emma might have another opinion on the matter.  We are settling in well, and had lots of family time together with 2 days off school for holiday/teacher work day and 1 1/2 cold and snowy days.  Becca has finally decided baby Alicia can stay and even finally wanted to hold her one week later.  Everyone but Grant and Alicia have been fighting colds/coughs this week.  Emma was super frustrated she couldn't hold or play with the baby.  I am worried for the poor thing once Emma is better!  Well baby is calling-here are some pictures.

Baby Alicia-again!

So here are some more pictures of Alicia Elizabeth. She was born Saturday January 18th 2014 at 4:38pm on her due date!  She weighed 8lbs 7 oz and is 21 inches long. We are so glad she is here and are loving every second with her.  She is a pretty calm baby and doesn't cry much-unless you are changing her clothes.  She even seems to be taking the binkie-hooray!  We came home from the hospital yesterday and are getting all settled in.  Emma and Leah love to hold and stare at her.  Becca is content to just ignore her.  She refuses to hold her or even kiss her and just says put her back in her bed.  You can never quite guess how they will react!

Yawn

Not sure if you can see it but her hair on top refuses to lay flat!

Christmas 2013

Today is Christmas and we have had a good day.  The girls were spoiled by everyone and have been emjoying playing with all their new toys and gadgets.  We also got to go and see the new movie Frozen, finally as Emma would say.  Here are some pictures from today as well as from the holiday season.  Now it is time to wait for baby to arrive!

November 2013

Can't believe I went a whole month without blogging.  It didn't seem like anything exciting happened to write about.  I finally figured out how to get a slideshow of pictures on here so you don't need to scroll down so much to look at the pictures.  There is a picture of Emma's birthday cake, Becca's black eye/nose, and raking leaves.  There are also some pictures from Thanksgiving.  Grant took the girls downtown to the American History Museum and monuments.  There is a picture of our turkey family we made to decorate our table, Leah eating a giant turkey leg and a some fun pictures of Becca enjoying her nutella toast just this morning!

October

Wow, where has the time gone? I didn't realize how long it has been since we blogged!  I was a little distracted the first 17 days of the month with Grant home due to the government shutdown.  I had a lot more competition for computer time!  It was great to have Grant home but it was really stressful wondering when he would go back and we would get payed again!  Glad everything is back to normal even though I am a little lonely now.

So this month has been a little busier since Leah started preschool.  She absolutely loves going which is a relief.  I wasn't sure how she would handle having to get ready by 8:10 in the morning to leave but she does just fine.  Her favorite part so far was a field trip to the pumpkin patch.  She and Emma both got to go on school field trips there in the same week and bring a pumpkin home.  Leah has 4 friends from the ward in her preschool class which is wonderful.  She brings home lots of fun projects she has made and is super proud and insists they be hung up on the art wall in the dining room.

Emma is doing well at school. She keeps bringing home scary story books from the library.  One was too scary for me.  I told her we had to stop reading it and she needed to take it back to the school library but she snuck it back up to her room and read it anyway and then of course woke up twice with nightmares.  Oh well.  Live and learn!

Becca continues to grow up too fast!  She is constantly imitating her sisters and now her dad too.  She has figured out how to laugh maniacally like Grant does and does it everytime she takes something away from her sisters.  She loves to help me cook but insists "i do it" and dumps it on the counter instead of in the bowl.

The baby continues to grow and get ready to join the family.  I am officially in the third trimester and enjoying all that comes with it.  It will all be worth it in the end though!  We are having a hard time coming up with any names yet though.  Coming up with a 4th girl name is hard!

Last weekend we visited Shenandoah National Park for a little day trip since it was finally back open.  It was a little past peek color but beautiful none the less.  But a little underwhelming compared to the grand national parks of the west we are used to!

I have also included some pictures we took of the girls at a park one day when Grant was home.
