Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great, fun filled Memorial Day weekend.  Saturday we visited the Smithsonian National Zoo.  It was perfect weather and we got to see lots of animals.  Despite a few meltdowns we had a good time.  I have come to the realization that with 3 girls at least one of them is usually upset about something!  Sunday we did our bbq day and grilled steaks for dinner.  Leah especially loves her meat!  Monday we took to the girls to Glen Echo Park.  It used to be a large amphitheater on the creek but is now a public park connected to the home of Clara Barton, founder of the Red Cross.  We didn't have time to do a tour of the house, but we did enjoy the park and the carousel.  It was built in the 1920's and then recently restored.  The girls had fun and were happy they go to ride a carousel since we didn't go on the one at the zoo.
This week it has gotten really hot and humid.  None of us want to go anywhere unless we half to.  Emma's class did a walking field trip to the grocery by our house today.  Emma was lucky enough to get to take her Dad who was worn out from walking in the heat.   Emma has had her cast for 2 weeks only 2 more!  Leah's burned arm is looking much better so we seem to have a reprieve in the bodily harm area at least this week!  Here are some pictures from our weekend. A few were also on facebook, but for those of you who didn't see them I put them here too.

Not very often I can get all 3 of them looking!

Holding on for dear life!
